My friend, the model

So it's been a super long time since I last posted, but I promise I'll try to keep up with this! This quarter is a little hectic soooo it's been hard trying to keep up....considering I have 4 other blogs for 4 classes! It's nuts.

Anywho, let's get to the real reason I'm posting. As many people know, I graduated from Johnstown HS, right outside Columbus. What you might not have known is I actually went to Northridge from K-8, their rival! My parents and my brother all graduated from NHS, so I guess you can call me the odd ball of the family.

While I was at Northridge, I met this girl who was very skinny, tall, long blonde hair, and was very very very well mannered. Her name is Edythe Hughes, and I didn't know her well, but I did talk to her every once and a while and from I can remember she was one of the nicest people I ever met! Well, apparently, when she was walking around Easton one day, a modeling agent walked up to her and offered her chance of modeling. Needless to say, she checked them out and a month later she was traveling the country for different clothing brands such as Calvin Klein, Vera Wang, and soon enough she started traveling the world!!!! It's so crazy to think a small-town girl turns out to have a huge career! The Columbus Dispatch did a front page article on her over the summer and quoted her saying, "this isn't a lifetime career, it's a job that I'm enjoying. But I don't plan on doing it for the rest of my life." I can picture sweet little Edythe saying this :) I hope if I make it in the fashion world doing some traveling that I someday will run into her and congratulate her on all her success. She truly is a role model near my home town and I love googling her because all these crazy photos of her pop up! HA. So, to give a little taster of what she has been doing for quite sometime, I will give you some photos from numerous runway shows she has done recently, curtsy of style.com:
From Left to Right: Louise Goldin, Elie Tahari, Clements Riberio, and the last and most famous runway show of the late Alexander McQueen before his death.
This is her in TeenVogue in Oct. 2007. CRAZY!
The success of her modeling still surprises me today and I hope to run into her someday. If you google her name, you'll find tons of more photos and what not!

Kroger's sells groceries, right?

I was grocery shopping today at my favorite grocery shopping store, Kroger, and realized this aisle sitting in the freezer aisle....what? Selling merchandise is cool and all and is usually limited by Kroger, but when I saw this rack next to the ice cream frozen dinners, I was slightly confused. I guess making some extra money in any means is important, but don't you think they could have put it somewhere else? Oh well. Congrats Kroger's for confusing the hell out of me. PS. if you don't have a Kroger card, get one! I've saved so much money by having one.....just saved $11 today! AND, spending $50 or more you get $.20 off per gallon! Great deal. THANK YOU Kroger!!!

So you think you can dance?

I'm not a huge fan of dancing with the stars, but what I find most interesting (hearing from my manager at work and on TV) is the pathetic attempt that Kate Gosselin has made. I'll give her a little credit for go out on stage and dancing her ass off, but after watching a clip of her attempt to dance....I just can't put it into words of how terrible she is. As my manager put it "a wiggling stick could dance better than she did." If you haven't seen it yet, youtube it ASAP. It's a sight to see. I also saw a clip where her and the dance partner start arguing and bickering like a gay and it's hag....and of course the male partner leaves like a diva stating "I'm done." Kate, we've seen your J&K+8 show and we already know how bitchy you can be, after all having 8 kids can put you in that mood at all times, but seriously lighten up a little. You're dancing! Have fun! Quit being so selfish and do what you're suppose to do as stated by the contract! I hope she realizes this later in the show and steps up her game.

Now about that hair-do.....it's slowly growing on me to tell the truth. She looks somewhat decent. I will admit at first I was TOTALLY against this, but I'm slowly adjusting. I am gonna miss that dyke-spike hair that she's famous for though :(
