What a Gaga sight
I watched the 2010 VMA's the other day and here are the (once again) outrageous outfits worn by Lady GaGa....she seizes never to surprise.

This one was my favorite of the night. Not only was the dress somewhat normal and gorgeous, she also kept her face apparent and had a natural look with the make-up. Love this outfit

Meanwhile this meaty outfit, not so appealing. She accepted her biggest award in this outfit....not my first choice, especially since she stood next to the legendary Cher.

And this garbage bag was way to much. She even stated "my dress is too big to walk around." She slumbered like a slug to the stage in this dress with that fake black mohawk, again not one of my favs.

Do all freshmen look like J.Bieb?
Today is the first day of classes, and to tell the god honest truth, being old sucks. Mainly because when I saw this humongous group of 12 year olds walking into Baker today, I realized...holy hell, those are freshmen. Wanna know how I figured that out? They had huge backpacks, and printed schedules in one hand, cell phone in the other. Another way I figured out these toddlers were beginning college was the fact that all the guys had hair like Justin Bieber....Bieber fever anyone? I wish I could be Bieber for one day...everyone idolizes me and does the same crazy tween stuff I do day-to-day. Psh, what a show-off. So I'm leaving you with this....when you're down and feeling slightly depressed that your life sucks and nothing is going right, ask yourself....what would bieber do? (WWBD)

You gotta "Funny Face"
My last blog I mentioned Audrey Hepburn, and it got me thinkin....I did a 15 min Audrey Hepburn speech in high school and absolutely loved her style/acting/fashion. One of her most memorable moments in film (besides Breakfast in Tiffany's) is her dance scene in Funny Face:
And to add a little spice, the Gap did a commercial a few years ago that included this dance and a little editing trying to advertise that "Black is Back." Enjoy!
London Baby
My roommate just completed her first international trip to Europe this summer, and when she got home she was telling me all about it. Not only did she get to see tons of cool statues and go to shows and what not, she mentioned that EVERYONE she saw dressed well, and looked nice. Sweatpants seems to be non-existent in London (thank god). SO, considering that London and Paris and all these fashionable places are kept up-to-date with fashion, here are some new fall trends from the UK:

Man shoes....who would have known that these ugly dress shoes would come into style for women

These are called "cigarette trousers." Looks like the look of Audrey Hepburn in "Funny Face"

Animal Print!!! Comin back....my guess is won't stay long.

And for those bike riders, go for something that is mellow-toned. Grey, blue, brown, with some casual shorts. With the hot weather, it's suggested to wear flats, or thin shoes....tennis shoes strings can be a risk, I know that from first hand experience. If you want to see more Europe trends, check out the Vogue website.

Why Hello Blogging...I Missed You
So, I haven't been on here for....over a month. Woops, lost track of time. Needless to say lots has happend so to start off with, I have an internship! It's at the Amish Oak Furniture Store in Pataskala. It's been interesting, I have been helping customers, met new people, and most of all been doing basically physical labor for about 6 weeks. Only two more weeks and I'm done...then fall quarter begins!!!
Last week was the season premier of the Rachel Zoe Project, and I have to admit, I thought it could be better. Her assistant had quit at the end of last season, so the first 20-30 mins of the show talked about her (whatta bitch). But, eventually it did move on.
I was looking last week at RZ's blog and looking at her photos, she is not the most prettiest person I've seen....her face looks like a raisin and her grin doesn't move when she "smiles" check it out:
I think it's time to put down the botox and pick up the sandwich RZ. If you want to see more of her website (and laugh at her intolerable face) her website is rachelzoe.com. Granted, I make fun, but I would love to have her job/be an assistant/do anything that she does to make the big bucks and have an outrageous wardrobe. Naturally, I'm jealousssss

Riri, where yo curves girrrl
I know it's been SUPER long since I've posted, but it was finals week....give me a break!

Onward and outward, if you pick up the most recent issue of Elle Magazine, look at Rihanna's body.....not the Rihanna we've always known. Looks like photoshop took a hit with this one.

The first one is from 2008. Where are the curves?!?!?

Spring Fever
Guh, I'm getting so sick of school. I guess taking 23 hours of class is probably not the smartest considering spring is the time to be lazy, lay in the sun, basically be a beach bum for a whole 3 months. But I digress. I'm almost done, I have pretty good grades thus far, just gotta stick through the next 3 weeks and then it's summer time!!

But, enough ranting, time to have some fun.
Since it is spring, I've seen a lot of colored outfits and love every minute of it! Color, I think, makes the eye so vulnerable that you are practically forced to smile. But, the only problem I see with all this color and the sun shining in your eyes all the time, I NEED sunglasses for all this bright weather! I absolutely hate the sun being in my eyes, so here's some fun and new sunglasses I've found via online.

Versace sunglasses also seem to be so trendy and stylish, but they like to make bank. This pair in particular being $659.....I bet I could find an alternative...Target?

Again, not in my price range but always fun to look at right? These are Prada, and I don't even dare to look at the price tag

Now here's something I can afford. $2 on Amazon...cha ching! Can you say Doobie Brothers? They're comin back in style!!!

Now here's a pair I already own. I found them in a classroom one day. Oakley's Oil Rig....my roomate swears they are real Oakley's (which would be worth $100+) but I think they're FOakley's! None the less, I love them. They're trendy and get the job done.
I usually get my sunglasses at Target, but I'm open for some new places to look. Got any suggestions? Let me know!

Smokin Scarlett
After seeing Iron Man 2, I was amazed at the work of Scarlett Johansson. A few days later, I was looking through some magazines for a research project and found all these Dolce & Gabbana ads with her face as the spokeswoman. Hot Damn! Enjoy

oh Mary Kate
Not too long ago, I ran into this fun website: verymarykate.com. It's a spoof of Mary Kate Olsen, and this actress is hilarious! The videos are around 2 mins long and they some of them have a on-going story so you might wanna start from the beginning. Watch some and you'll get a good laugh for the day! Her explanation for doing these videos is that Mary Kate isn't the brightest...she isn't the brightest crayon in the box. Never really independent, and easy to pick on. Good enough excuse for me!

From Hannah to the NEW Miley

I just watched the brand spankin new music video that Miley did, "Can't be Tamed." Talk about riskaaay. It's probably gonna be a big deal cause it's all sexy, she's not covered much, and it's WAY poppy, not country at all....whatever. Not gonna lie, it kinda sounds Britney Spears-ish. Look for it on youtube, probably going out tomorrow. I think it's great! It's awesome she's taking a new step in the music biz! What do you think?

My friend, the model
So it's been a super long time since I last posted, but I promise I'll try to keep up with this! This quarter is a little hectic soooo it's been hard trying to keep up....considering I have 4 other blogs for 4 classes! It's nuts.

Anywho, let's get to the real reason I'm posting. As many people know, I graduated from Johnstown HS, right outside Columbus. What you might not have known is I actually went to Northridge from K-8, their rival! My parents and my brother all graduated from NHS, so I guess you can call me the odd ball of the family.
While I was at Northridge, I met this girl who was very skinny, tall, long blonde hair, and was very very very well mannered. Her name is Edythe Hughes, and I didn't know her well, but I did talk to her every once and a while and from I can remember she was one of the nicest people I ever met! Well, apparently, when she was walking around Easton one day, a modeling agent walked up to her and offered her chance of modeling. Needless to say, she checked them out and a month later she was traveling the country for different clothing brands such as Calvin Klein, Vera Wang, and soon enough she started traveling the world!!!! It's so crazy to think a small-town girl turns out to have a huge career! The Columbus Dispatch did a front page article on her over the summer and quoted her saying, "this isn't a lifetime career, it's a job that I'm enjoying. But I don't plan on doing it for the rest of my life." I can picture sweet little Edythe saying this :) I hope if I make it in the fashion world doing some traveling that I someday will run into her and congratulate her on all her success. She truly is a role model near my home town and I love googling her because all these crazy photos of her pop up! HA. So, to give a little taster of what she has been doing for quite sometime, I will give you some photos from numerous runway shows she has done recently, curtsy of style.com:

From Left to Right: Louise Goldin, Elie Tahari, Clements Riberio, and the last and most famous runway show of the late Alexander McQueen before his death.

This is her in TeenVogue in Oct. 2007. CRAZY!
The success of her modeling still surprises me today and I hope to run into her someday. If you google her name, you'll find tons of more photos and what not!

Kroger's sells groceries, right?
I was grocery shopping today at my favorite grocery shopping store, Kroger, and realized this aisle sitting in the freezer aisle....what? Selling merchandise is cool and all and is usually limited by Kroger, but when I saw this rack next to the ice cream frozen dinners, I was slightly confused. I guess making some extra money in any means is important, but don't you think they could have put it somewhere else? Oh well. Congrats Kroger's for confusing the hell out of me. PS. if you don't have a Kroger card, get one! I've saved so much money by having one.....just saved $11 today! AND, spending $50 or more you get $.20 off per gallon! Great deal. THANK YOU Kroger!!!

So you think you can dance?

I'm not a huge fan of dancing with the stars, but what I find most interesting (hearing from my manager at work and on TV) is the pathetic attempt that Kate Gosselin has made. I'll give her a little credit for go out on stage and dancing her ass off, but after watching a clip of her attempt to dance....I just can't put it into words of how terrible she is. As my manager put it "a wiggling stick could dance better than she did." If you haven't seen it yet, youtube it ASAP. It's a sight to see. I also saw a clip where her and the dance partner start arguing and bickering like a gay and it's hag....and of course the male partner leaves like a diva stating "I'm done." Kate, we've seen your J&K+8 show and we already know how bitchy you can be, after all having 8 kids can put you in that mood at all times, but seriously lighten up a little. You're dancing! Have fun! Quit being so selfish and do what you're suppose to do as stated by the contract! I hope she realizes this later in the show and steps up her game.

Now about that hair-do.....it's slowly growing on me to tell the truth. She looks somewhat decent. I will admit at first I was TOTALLY against this, but I'm slowly adjusting. I am gonna miss that dyke-spike hair that she's famous for though :(
